Beam It Up Laser Works is a Veteran owned and operated business. Our founder served for 6 years in the United States Air Force as a member of Security Forces at F.E. Warren AFB, Cheyenne Wyoming. Despite spending his entire enlistment in Wyoming, his only regret is that Space Force didn’t exist in 1999 when he enlisted. Today we are based out of the Southeast corner of Iowa but had a humble start running a $300 diode laser in the living room of our home in California trying to maintain sanity during the COVID lockdowns of 2020. Fascination and creativity blossomed into a full blown obsession with that little machine and quickly, nothing in the house was safe from the beam of the diode. Slowly, as the machines got bigger and more powerful, the projects grew in scale as well. What began as a hobby morphed into a dream of running a business that would allow us to to do a thing we love while providing people with valuable goods and services. That dream grew stronger with knowledge, experience and confidence gained by being involved with the Laser Everything community and soon that dream became a plan then that plan became a LLC. Despite Anthony being a die-hard Star Wars fan, the name Beam It Up Laser Works is actually a nod to the term used by Captain James T. Kirk in that “other” space/sci-fi franchise. If you’re going to play with lasers all day, you might as well embrace your inner nerdom.
